Connecticut Municipal Electric Energy Cooperative (CMEEC) is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for all users, including people with disabilities. 1. Our Commitment

Consistent with standards and obligations of public entities as set by the Department of Justice under the Americans with Disabilities Act (“ADA”), we aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA, which are recognized as the international standard for web accessibility.

2. Accessibility Features

Our website includes, but is not limited to, the following accessibility features, with ongoing efforts to achieve full compliance by April 2027:

  • Text alternatives for non-text content (images, icons, and graphics).

  • Keyboard navigation support.

  • Adjustable text size and responsive layouts.

  • Sufficient color contrast between text and background.

  • Forms designed with accessible labels and instructions.

  • Compatibility with modern screen readers and assistive technologies.

3. Ongoing Efforts

Accessibility is an ongoing process. Our team is working towards achieving full compliance with the current Federal requirements by April 2027, after which regular content reviews, updates to design practices, and tests of new pages and features will continue to ensure we maintain compliance. Staff members and contractors are trained to create accessible content, and accessibility is integrated into our design and development process.

4. Limitations & Alternatives

While we strive to ensure all content is accessible, some older documents or third-party content may not fully meet accessibility standards. If you encounter an issue, please contact us so we can provide an alternative format or accommodation.
